WHEELER - Vea Fillingim, 92, died Thursday, June 1, 2006.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Gageby Cemetery in Gageby by Wright Funeral Home.

Mrs. Fillingim was born Aug. 17, 1913, in Beaver, Okla., to William and Flora Rose. Mrs. Fillingim taught school and was a homemaker. She married Leon Fillingim in 1935 in Arnett, Okla. He died in 1999. She moved to Texas in 1940 from Colorado and moved to Wheeler in 1960.

Survivors include six daughters, Ann Myers and husband Joe of Florida, Evalyn Free of Tyler, Ruth Irvine and husband Dick of Briscoe, Violet Farris and husband Ken of Houston, Estelle McAdams and husband Evertt of Plains and Mozelle Thomas and husband Glenn of Amarillo; 18 grandchildren, Scott and Phil Dennis, Allen and Brian Myers, Penny Conn, April Schultz, Brent Free, Becky and Rich Irvine, Stephanie Brock, Sharron Gowin, Shannon and Channing Farris, David and Micah Thomas, Andrea Dobbs and Lacy and Ken McAdams; 40 great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Faye Sell of Amarillo, Joyce Hardage of Chelsea, Okla., Eda Bynum of Moss Point, Miss., Gay Andler of Breaux Bridge, La., and Elton Fillingim of Prescott, Ariz.

The family suggests memorials be to First United Methodist Church of Wheeler, P.O. Box 89 Wheeler, TX 79096.
