Mrs. Sadie Bess Slaughter Thurman, age seventy-eight years, wife of Cad P. Thurman, of this city, died at 2 pm Friday at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home here.
She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Slaughter and a native of Hodgenville. She was a former school teacher.
Mrs. Thurman was a member of Hodgenville First Baptist Church, Hodgenville Woman's Club, the LaRue County Historical Society and Golden Age Club.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two grandchildren, Mrs. Robert W. Hopkins of Murray, Ky., and Harold M. (Mickey) Morton, Jr., of Louisvlle; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Abell, of Hodgenville and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 pm Sunday in the Chapel at Miller and Brownfield Funeral Home, followed by interment in Red Hill Cemetery.
