Adde was born in Middels, Ostfriesland, a son of Goeke and Hieme Michels Aden. He married Menna Warnkes 6 July 1868 in Benson, Woodford Co, Illinois. Soon after their marriage, they moved to Nebraska and became one of the pioneer families of that state.
