Lessie was the seventh child and the third daughter of John Warren Carpenter and Irena Viola Dean. Lessie married Edward Homer Hampton on October 31, 1926. Together, they had three daughters, 9 grandchildren (1 preceded her in death), and 20 grandchildren. She was a member of Leatherwood Baptist Church. Lessie had been confined to Beckwood Manor Nursing Home for six years preceding her death. Lessie was loved by all, especially her children and grandchildren. I miss you, Grandmother.
