MARTIN V. BUCK
---Martin V. Buck, for 11 years a resident of this community, died at his home in Wardner on Tuesday at the age of 73 years and 7 days. For some time past he had been in failing health.
---The following obituary read at the funeral tell of his active life:
---Martin V. Buck was born in Athens County, Ohio, Feb. 12, 1845. He was married to Miss Ella Sanborn on April 12, 1876, and to this union were born six children, Louis E., who died Sept. 1, 1900; Frank E. and Charles E., both of Wardner; Ernest H. principal of schools at Emmett, Jesse V. superintendent of schools at Coeur d'Alene, and Mrs. Lydia Leonard of Coulee City, Washington. When in the strength of young manhood he gave himself to the service of his Master and joined the Methodist church. The old home church built on his own land and purchased by him and deeded to the congregation forever is a monument of some of the good that came through his Christian life. He was an active member of the church for 42 years.
---He was also a veteran member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, having joined the order over 40 years ago. He moved from Missouri to Idaho 11 years ago. He leaves his life long companion, five children, a brother in Colorado and one in Oklahoma, a sister in Florida, and one in Missouri.
---Funeral services were held from the Methodist church on Thursday afternoon conducted by the Rev. J.D. Strevey and under the auspices of Wardner Lodge No: 29, I. O. O. F. Interment was in Greenwood.
