Born in Speedwell, VA, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Willis and Gervice Stevens Crigger, and wife of the late Edward F. Tell and Theodore E. Benson. She worked in the meat department for the A&P Grocery Store for 23 ½ years and was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary. Mrs. Tell is survived by her son, Lonnie G. Sawyer of Catawba, VA; sisters, Virginia Stockson of Aberdeen and Ruby Catello of Waterford, New York; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
