Robert is buried with his first wife Doris Mae Smith whom was born in 1925 and died in a fire in 1951. Also buried with Doris and Robert are their two children that also died in the fire. David Gingras b 1949 d 1951 and Donna May Gingras b 1950 d 1951.

Fairfax-Robert J "Bob" Gingras, 62, of RR2 Box 2960, Fairfax, formerly of Burlington, died at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont in Burlington Friday Jan 20, 1989, after a long illness.

He was born in Colchester April 29, 1926, the son of Alfred and Emilia (Mercier) Gingras. Bob was the proprietor of Gingras Transmission in Burlington for 45 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Burlington. He was a avid bowler and outdoorman. Bob was a wonderful father and companion.

He is survived by three daughters, Deborah Gingras of Burlington, Brenda Gingras of Richmond and Lisa Gingras of Burlington, four sons and three daughter in laws, Patrick and Katherine Gingras of Essex Jct, Gary and Doris Gingras of Westford, Timothy and Rebecca Gingras of Burlington and Thomas Gingras of Burlington; a sister Anna Bean of Burlington; three brothers and three sister in laws, Wilfred and Gloria Gingras of Conn, John and Janice Gingras of South Burlington, James and Arlene Gingras of Burlington; four grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and cousins. Bob is also survived by his very special friends, Elaine, Lindy, Kim and Josh. He was predeceased by his first wife Dot, his 2nd wife Elizabeth (Trottier); three children, and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held 9:30 Monday at St Joseph's Church in Burlington with interment to follow in New Mt Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Boucher and Pritchard Funeral Home, 85 N Winooski Ave, today from 2-4 and 7-9.
