She and her siblings were a tight knit bunch. In the mid 1920's their father moved the Dunham family to Long Beach, California to work in the oil fields (later, he became a foreman on the discovery well in the Kettleman Hills Oil Field).
Thelma married Orville / Orval William Grout in 1920. By 1926 the Grouts moved their young family to Santa Rosa, CA.
1930 US Census: her family was enumerated in Los Angeles, CA: Orville & Thelma, children: Keith, Kenneth, Robert, Marva Jean, & Betty Grout.
All of Thelma's siblings married, each having children natural or adopted, except for Rae who was like another mother to her nieces and nephews. Job changes; better opportunities; more moves; and again all five settled near each other in Lake Co, CA. Three, including Thelma, were buried in Lake Co. The remaining two, Dorothy & Rae moved again to Billings, Montana, residing for a time side by side in a duplex before their deaths.
She was a dedicated mother and loved dearly.
