Aviation Petty Officer 2nd Class "ARM2C" Kenneth W. Grout was a member of the US NAVY bombing-fighting squadron VB-87 aboard the USS Ticonderoga CV-14 during WWII. On 24 July, 1945 while flying a mission over Kure Harbor, Japan, his plane was hit by AA- gunfire and went down. He was declared missing along with his pilot.
They were listed as MIA and declared dead a year later.
He served as a radioman and tail gunner. Listed as pictured on the Pearl Harbor War Memorial in Honolulu, Hawaii on the 'Courts of the Missing'
