Mrs. Julia V. Walters of 105 E. Willow Avenue, Altoona, died Sunday,May 17, 1953, in
the J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon at 2:42 a. m., after a lengthy illness. She was born on June 7, 1879, in Meadow Gap, a daughter of Barton B. and Sarah J. (Locke) Shore. She was united in marriage to Howard J. Walters and he preceded her in death in 1935 Surviving are the following children: Ellis M. Walters, Ralph H. Walters and Ira E. Walters, all of Altoona. Ten grandchildren also survive. In addition to these, she is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Irene Mentzer of Burnt Cabins, Mrs. Mae Reihart and Mrs. Edith Clark, both of Huntingdon, Mrs. Alva Varner of Perulack, Harrison Shore and Mrs. Dessie Carl, both of Mount Union, Mrs. Olive Taylor of McVeytown, Dorsey Shore of New Jersey, Mrs. D. Ramsey of Shirleysburg, Calvin Shore of Shirleysburg, R. D., and Ira Shore of Orbisonia, R. D. One sister, Mrs. Villa Varner preceded her in death.
The deceased was a member of the Church of God. Rev. Richard H. Meyers will offi- Wednesday at 1:30 p. m. in the Green funeral home in Huntingdon, followed by funeral services at the Pleasant Hill United Brethren Church, near Shade Gap, upon arrival of the funeral cortege. The Rev. Richard H. Meyers officiatciate. Interment will be made in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the Green funeral home anytime after 7 p. m. this Monday evening.
