Daughter of William Hildebrand and Margaret Gilliland. Wife of George Wilson Briggs and the mother of five children: Charles R., Ira Otis, Mayme Fayette, Currence and Lula L. Wilson.

Obituary:
Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Briggs died at her home in Orbisonia, Pa., Oct. 1st, 1919, aged 73 years and 17 days. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church by her pastor, Rev. Martin, and Rev. J.K. Knisely, of Altoona, who had been a friend of the family for thirty-four years. Mrs. Briggs had been a member of the Methodist faith for forty years and was much interested and took an active part in all church activities. She was the daughter of the late William and Margaret Gilliland Hildebrand, of near Mount Union. She was united in marriage with G.W. Briggs, of near Mount Union, in 1867, to whom were born five children. Her husband and two children, Charlie and Mrs. Lulu Carothers, proceeded her to the grave. Surviving are Otis, of Pittsburgh, Pa., Mrs. Mame Rowe and Mrs. Currance Wilson, of Orbisonia, Pa. Nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two brothers and two sisters also survive.
