William Hildebrand, one of the oldest citizens, died at his home in Mount Union this morning. He had been sick for several weeks with a complication of diseases, and was on a fair way to recovery until pneumonia set in a few hours before his death. He was born in Lancaster county, Pa., March 25, 1818, and was 74 years, 1 month and 2 days old at the time of his death. When about 18 years of age he moved to McVeytown where he lived several years, being engaged on the Pennsylvania Canal, and where he married Miss Margaret Gilliland who survives him. Seven children were born to them, five of whom still live, J. Ross, of Saltillo, and McClellan yet at home, Elizabeth, married to G. Wilson Briggs, of Orbisonia, Pa., Hannah, married to John C. Davis, of Mount Union, and Maggie, married to Oscar Lutz of Germany Valley, Jennie, married to David Crawford, of Butler county, died many years ago, and one son died when small. Mr. Hildebrand had been for many years a devoted member of the M. E. church. Interment will be in the Odd Fellows' Cemetery at Mount Union on Saturday at 1 p.m
