Dale was the son of George Hake and Margaret Doutt. His paternal grandparents were David Miller Hake and Elizabeth Bond. He married Margaret Williams on August 12, 1978.

"Dale Lee Hake, 85, of Orchard Road, Mercer, PA, died Monday, March 30, 2015 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle. He was born June 4, 1929 in Mahoningtown, a son of the late George and Margaret (Doutt) Hake. He married Margaret (Williams) Hake on August 12, 1978, she survives in Mercer. Mr. Hake was a switchman for General Telephone and Telegraph in New Wilmington and then for Verizon Telephone retiring after 40 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and served in Japan. Mr. Hake enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved being outdoors.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by ten children, Margaret Ann Bell and her husband Gary of Long Grove, IL, Joseph Lee Hake and his wife Jeri of New Castle, Wendy Hake of Gueph, Canada, Terry Bennett and husband David of California, Shawn Hake of Sharon, PA, Donna Maggie and her husband Joseph III of New Castle, Kathryn Dutton and her husband Geoff of Aiken, SC, Debra Buckel and her husband Martin of West Farmington, OH, Kevin Harkless and his wife Alaina of New Port Richey, FL, and Darrin Harkless and his wife Jean of Thomson, IL, two brothers, John Hake of Houston, TX and Fred Hake of New Port News, VA, one sister, June Kobi of New Wilmington, PA, twenty grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Scott Hake, three brothers, Alvie, Robert Lee, and Paul Hake, and four sisters, Charlotte Gerhardt, Dorothy Bales, Mildred Ridenbaugh, and Jayne Jenkins. Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Thursday, April 2, 2015 from 5 PM to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 3, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Abel Robles of Oak Point Church and Rev. Matthew Bupp will be officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Funeral Rites at the funeral home".
