Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the First Methodist church in Alexandria for Mrs. Richard (Lillian) Chase, who passed away very suddenly Tuesday morning, May 8. Rev. John H. Payne officiated. Pallbearers were Peter Hintzen, Harry Bailey, Peter Robertson, Elmer Anderson, Holger Hanson and Earl Thompson. Interment was made in Kinkead cemetery.
Mrs. Chase, an office employee of the Park Region Echo for the past several years, had been at work as usual the day before her death. Her death during the night from a heart attack came as a shock to her family and many friends.
Lillian Isabel Chase was born in Olds, Alberta, Canada, Feb. 16, 1897. As a young woman, she came to Alexandria and has lived here since. For many years she was office nurse for Dr. E. R. Sather. She was united in marriage to Richard Chase in 1927. She was an active member of the First Methodist church, a member of the choir and treasurer of the Sunday School. She also was a member of Rebekah Lodge No. 173 and of the Business and Professional Women's club.
Survivors include her husband and four stepchildren, Louis of Detroit Lakes, Horace of Oakland, Calif., Catherine Ernst of Minneapolis and Doris Bliss of Sioux Falls, S. Dak. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Hattie Maxwell, Eugene, Ore.; Mrs. Dora Wood, Pomona, Calif.; and Mrs. ida Cox, Boise, Idaho.
