In 1920 she and her husband and their son lived in a place they were renting in Ward 1 in Wilkinsburg, PA. He worked as an electrical engineer for an electric company.
In 1930 she and William and their two children lived in a house they owned on Conestoga Road in Penn Township, Allegheny County, PA. Their home was valued at $9000, and they did have a radio. He worked as an electrical engineer in steel mills.
In 1940 the four of them lived in probably the same house, at 25 Conestoga Road. (The houses were numbered differently, with 47 and 52 being the highest numbers before getting to Florida Avenue. Now the numbers go up to 237.) Their home was valued at just $4500 after the Great Depression. William still worked as an electrical engineer, with an income in 1939 of $2000 for 52 weeks of work.
