Herbert Robert
Herbert M. Robert, 77, 4509 Lewisburg-Western Road, Lewisburg, died April 10, at his residence after a long illness.
A native of Brookville, he had lived in Lewisburg most of his life. He retired in 1967 from Inland Corporation of Dayton after 33 years.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Odd Fellows Lodge No. 571, and Golden Buckeye and Preble Little Turtles Camping clubs.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; one daughter, Alice A. Booher of Lewisburg; one son, Russell H. Robert of West Manchester; five sisters, Ethel Gebhart of Phillipsburg, Ruth Hutton of New Lebanon, Irene Early and Mary Shiverdecker both of Brookville, and Phoebe Mundhenk of Lewisburg; one brother, John L. Robert of West Manchester; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A grandson, Jeffery A. Hawley, died in 1980.
Funeral services were Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lewisburg, with the Rev. Albert Swingle and the Rev. William Blas officiating. Burial was in Preble Memory Gardens, near West Alexandria. Barnes Funeral Home, Lewisburg Chapel, was in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Preble County Cancer Society.
