Jesse Robert

Word was received here last week of the death of Jesse Robert, 74, of St. Petersburg, Florida, on February 5. He was a former resident of the West Alexandria area.

Survivors include five half sisters, Ethel Gebhart, and Phoebe Mundhenk of Lewisburg, Ruth Hutton of Eaton, Irene Early and Mary Shiverdecker of Brookville; two half brothers, Herbert Robert of Lewisburg, and John Robert of West Manchester; and several nieces and nephews.

Services and burial took place Thursday in St. Petersburg.

No one is sure who he lived with upon the death of his mother. The family always said Jesse was a gambler or was in shady business. He always had rolls of money when he came to the reunions, giving all us kids a dollar if we would all sing for him, which, of course, we all did. ~ Opal Gebhart Fetters
