Nila Jean Dragoo, 70, died Saturday afternoon, November 19, 2005, at Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. She was born, October 14, 1935, in Muncie, the daughter of Arthur F. and Naomi L. Stephens Hensley, graduated from Yorktown High School in 1953, and attended St. Mary's of the Woods Nursing School in South Bend. Mrs. Dragoo was formerly employed at Ball Memorial Hospital and Owens Illinois. She married Sandy Dragoo, December 31, 1954. Mrs. Dragoo attended Cammack United Methodist Church and was a member of Single Promonaders Square Dance Club.

Surviving are four children, Thomas A. "Tad" Dragoo (wife-Rita), Albany, Tari D. Cofield (husband-John), Colorado Springs, Colorado, Todd D. Dragoo (wife-Debra), Raymore, Missouri, and Tamarah K. Forbes (husband-Randal), Angola; 12 grandchildren, Laura Dragoo, John H. Cofield, Kimberly Dragoo, Ryanne Forbes, Mark Cofield, Kristen Dragoo, Rachel Dragoo, Kelley Dragoo, Matthew Cofield, Kari Dragoo, Sara Grace Cofield, and Rae Forbes; her sister, Ruby Ford, Redkey; a brother, David E. Hensley (wife-Sharon), Muncie; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Kimberly Dragoo; and a brother, Robert Hensley. Services will be held in The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory Chapel at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2005. Burial will follow in Hawk Cemetery. Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory from 4 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday or one hour prior to services on Wednesday. Memorials may be directed to the American Lung Association, 9445 Delegates Row, Indianapolis, IN 46240-3805.
