William G Tribley, 87, of 379 Oak Road, Chicora, died at 3:10am Sunday at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.
Born in Phillipston, Clarion County Oct 28, 1908, he was the son of Hardy M and Anna (Remaley) Tribley.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Chicora. He also belonged to Argyle Lodge 540 F&AM, where he had served as worshipful master.
He was an avid camper and traveler and belonged to the United Commercial Travelers, the Airstream-Pennsylvania Unit and the Clarion County Campers.
A 1928 graduate of East Brady High School, he had been employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad and Rexhide Corp. in East Brady. For many years, he had been a school bus contractor and driver for the Karns City School District.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs E Dean (Mary B) Ramsey and Mrs Dean A (Carol M) Yobp, both of Chicora, and Mrs Robert C (Charlotte J) Glaspy of Cranberry Township; a brother, Milton Tribley of Roanoke, Va; two sisters, Mrs Olive Horam and Mrs Alfred J (Bernice) Campbell, both of East Brady; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
He married the former Velma J McKee July 23, 1932 in Clarion. She died July 9, 1987. He also was preceded in death by two brothers and an infant sister.
Tribley--Friends of William G Tribley, who died Sunday, July 28, 1996, will be received at the Richard D Hillis Funeral Home, Petrolia, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Tuesday. Visitation will also be held from noon to 1pm Wednesday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, where funeral services will follow at 1pm, with the Rev James A Higgins, church pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Lutheran Cemetery, Chicora R.D. 1.
