Harold Edward Thorne, 85, husband of Lillian (Crist) Thorne, of Waynesboro, died Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at Augusta Health.
He was born June 8, 1929, in Rockbridge County, a son of the late John and Effie (Chittum) Thorne.
Mr. Thorne was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean War.
Prior to retirement, he was employed by Wayn-Tex as a machine operator.
He was a member of Glovier Memorial United Methodist Church in Waynesboro.
In addition to his loving wife of 60 years, family members include his loving daughter, Retter Dianne Thorne of Waynesboro; two brothers, Jerry Thorne of Fairfield and Donald Thorne of Buena Vista; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 19, 2015, in Oaklawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens by the Rev. Ryan Schaeffer.
