David T. Ramer, 76, of Shelbyville, died Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, at his home.

Born May 28, 1927, in Decatur County, he was the son of Cortez and Anna (Stewart) Ramer. He married Esther (Fritz) Kemple on Sept. 8, 1951, and she survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Bob Kemple of Shelbyville and Richard Kemple of Zephryhills, Fla.; one daughter, Debbie Campbell of Peru; one brother, Millard Ramer of Millhousen; two sisters, Ruth Federly of Batesville and Dorothy Pennington of Denver, Colo.; six grandchildren, Alisa Fisher, Bobbi McLane, Katrina Vierling, Brian Kemple, Cory Campbell and Chad Campbell; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was precede in death by one brother, Bob Ramer; four sisters, Edna Korhman, Olive Crapo, Gladys Hiles and Helen Norris; and one great-granddaughter, Amber Suits.

Mr. Ramer lived in Shelbyville most of his adult life.

He was a truck driver for 18 years and also had been employed with the former Tokheim Co. in Shelbyville and Cummins Engine in Columbus.

Mr. Ramer was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

He was a member of American Legion Post No. 70, Eagles Lodge and Evangelical United Church of Christ.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Funeral Home, 819 S. Harrison St.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Scott Collins officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
