LENA HOBAN DIES IN HOSPITAL
Mrs. Lena Mae Hoban, 77, R.R.1 St.Paul, Noble Township correspondent for The Shelbyville News for many years, died at 8:25 p.m. Thursday at Major Hospital. She had been admitted to the hospital earlier in the day with a heart condition.
Services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Carmony Funeral Home in St. Paul with the Rev. Donald Osborne officiating. Burial will be in the Van Pelt Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. Saturday.
Born in Noble Township May 26, 1892, Mrs. Hoban was the daughter of John and Ida (Jones) Herndon. On Sept. 28, 1913, she was married to Edgar Hoban, who survives.
Also surviving are five sons, Perry E. Hoban of Rhinelander, Wis., Cedric V. Hoban of R.R.1 St. Paul, Marvin E. Hoban of Huntington Beach, Calif., Herschel N. Hoban of Santa Clara, Calif., and Robert G. Hoban of Shelbyville; three daughters, Mrs. Earl (Mary) Barker of R.R.1 Flat Rock, Mrs. Fred (Nora) Powell of Memphis, Tenn., and Mrs. Norman (Doris) Hinkle of R.R.1 St. Paul; 34 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Nora Wasson of Letts Corner.
One sister and four brothers preceded in death.
Mrs. Hoban had lived her entire life in Noble Township and was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, its Women's Society of Christian Service, and the Noble Township Extension Homemaker's Club.
