Nora Powell Barnett, 90, of Collierville, died December 20, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. She retired from AT&T and was a member of Collierville United Methodist Church, a member of DAR and the Telephone Pioneers. Mrs. Barnett was preceded in death by her husbands, Fred Powell and William H. Barnett. She is survived by her son, James Powell (Christine) of Greencastle, IN; daughter, Jackie Seymour (John) of Collierville; five granddaughters, Jenny Cox of Bartlett, Jamie Childers of Tampa, FL, Lori Wilson, Megan Vaughn and Anna Newman, all of Collierville; three great-granddaughters; eight great-grandsons; three step-granddaughters and four step-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 22, from 3-5 p.m. at Collierville Funeral Home. The service will be 1 p.m. Monday, December 23, at the Sanctuary on the Square in Collierville, with burial in Magnolia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,, memorials may be sent to Autism Speaks, 1060 State Rd., 2nd Floor, Princeton, NJ 08540 or the University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital.
