Newspaper Article: "Married at Cameron"

Mr. C. H. Slone of Buckholts and Miss Alice E. Bryant of Rogers, were quietly married in Cameron last Sunday and immediately left on their bridal trip to various points of interest. Mrs. Slone is a daughter of Mr. L. B. Bryant, one of the oldest and most highly respected families in this vicinity. She is a young lady of strong personality and we are sure Mr. Slone comes of a splendid family, and is one of our most industrious and successful young farmers. His wife has made no mistake. We hope that this young couple may live long and prosper, and may they always be as happy as they now appear.

Newspaper Obituary - November 1954

Mrs. C. H. Slone died in a Sherman hospital Monday morning. She had been a school teacher in and around the Buckholts community for the past 25 years, moving to Sherman only last year.
Funeral services were slated at 2:30 Thursday from the Marek-Burns Funeral Chapel with Mr. Ribble of the Gunter Church Home in Gunter, Texas officiating.
Survivors include five brothers, Hardy Bryant of Waco, Elie Bryant of San Angelo, Ewin Bryant of Lorenzo, Harmon and Raymond Bryant, both of Houston; two sisters Mrs. Charlie Lively of Cameron and Mrs. Ethel Stanley of Temple (note-should be Florence Starling).
Burial was in the Rogers Cemetery.
