DALLAS, Texas – Wilson Murray Claggett went to be with the Lord January 3, 2005, at his home in Dallas. He had been retired several years from the Internal Revenue Service in Dallas.
Claggett was born January 25, 1931, in the family farmhouse west of Big Cabin, Okla., to Fred Deweese and Bertha Agnes (Pitts) Claggett. He was the youngest son with 10 older brothers, one older sister and one younger sister. He is survived by four brothers, G.C. Claggett of Vinita, Okla., Gerald Claggett of Tulsa, Okla., Grover Claggett of Grove, Okla., and K.K. Claggett of Vinita.
Claggett attended Centerview Rural School through the eighth grade then graduated from Big Cabin High School in 1949. He later joined the armed forces and was assigned to a base in Hawaii where he served the remainder of his term. After his return home he worked on the family farm and held various other jobs before moving to Tulsa, where he was employed by the City of Tulsa. He held this position until moving to Dallas.
Wilson had a big heart and a great sense of humor. He was always ready to help any of the family when called upon; however, he never wanted any recognition for his generosity. He will be greatly missed by his remaining family and many friends.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 8, at 10 a.m., at Big Cabin Cemetery.
