A native of Hancock County, she made her home in Baldwin County for most of her life. The daughter of the late Alex Brooks and the late Maggie Johnson Brooks, widow of the late Buster Brown Batchelor, she was retired from McGaw Laboratories, and was a retired employee of Central State Hospital. Mrs. Batchelor was a member of Sinclair Baptist Church and the Butterfly Sunday School Class.
Survivors: sons, Gary Batchelor and Larry Batchelor, both of Milledgeville; 2 sisters, Janie Marshall of Ringold, GA, Ethel Kitchens of Milledgeville; 2 brothers, Walter Brooks of Milledgeville, Lindsey Brooks of Columbia, SC; 4 grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of Flowers the family request expressions of sympathy be made to Sinclair Baptist Church. Mrs. Batchelor will lie in state at the church from 1 o'clock until the funeral hour.
