Mr. Batchelor, a native of Hancock County, had lived in Baldwin County most of his life. He was retired from the Youth Development Center. He was a veteran of World War II and a deacon and member of Sinclair Baptist Church in Milledgeville. He was a member of Baldwin County Civil Defense and the Old Capitol C.B. Club.
Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Brooks Batchelor of Milledgeville; two sons, Larry Batchelor and Gary Batchelor, both of Milledgeville; a sister Polly Johnson of Milledgeville; two brothers, William "Bill" Batchelor of Devereux and Irvin Garland of Milledgeville; and two grandchildren.
