Thursday May 27, 1954 The Marion Sentinel
Wilbur S. Klopp, 57, a lifelong resident of the Marion and Cedar Rapids communities, and a former employee of the National Oats Company, died Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. in a Cedar Rapids nursing home, following a long illness.
Mr. Klopp was born April 16, 1897 at Waubeek, to the late Stephan H. and Mary L. Klopp, and came to Marion shortly thereafter.
He is survived by four brothers: Daniel Klopp and Lloyd Klopp of Marion; Loren Klopp, of Alburnett; Orlan Klopp, of Walker, and four sister [sic], Gladys Woods, of Springville; Mary Cleveland, of Chicago, Ill., Ida Bruce and Erma Klopp of Cedar Rapids.
Mr. Klopp was a member of the Methodist church, Eagles club and The American Federation of Grain Millers.
Memorial services will be conducted in the Murdoch Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Friday, by the Rev. James P. Gable. Burial will be in the family lot at Oak Shade cemetery.
