Laura E. Vaughn, 81, of Brook, died at 9:50 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, in Jasper County Hospital of Rensselaer.
She was born Nov. 6, 1918, in Beaver City, and was a lifelong Brook resident. In 1977, she retired as a day supervisor from Per Pak Corporation of Brook, working there 13 years.
On July 27, 1940, she married Charles W. Vaughn in Brook, and he died June 12, 1978.
Mrs. Vaughn was a member of Brook United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Washington Township Home Demonstration Club, Brook Music Club, Widows Club and the former Brook Study Club. She enjoyed quilting.
Surviving are a son, Marvin Vaughn (wife: Rhonda) of Elizabeth, Colo.; and two daughters, Rosalind Bilyeu (husband: Paul) of Rensselaer and Lola Miller (husband: Larry) of Brook. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Preceded by her parents, 2 brothers, a sister and 2 great-grandchildren.
