Lois A. Myers, 64, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Wednesday evening, November 12, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born February 21, 1950 in Monroe Township and was raised by her loving foster parents, Martin and Georgia Smith, of Bowmansdale.
Lois was a Teacher's Aid at the Mechanicsburg Learning Center and a member of Bowmansdale Church of God. Lois' favorite pastime was anything involving her grandchildren and her love for all children. She was an excellent fisherman, gardener and quite the card shark. She loved working on crossword puzzles in her quiet time. Lois had a kind heart and touched everyone she knew with her generosity and caring; to know Lois was to love her. She was truly an angel that walked among us.
She was the devoted wife of Gary L. Myers for 43 years. The loving mother and grandmother to her son: Brian L. Myers, of Lewisberry and daughter: Jennifer M. Rooney, of Warrenton, VA, along with her grandchildren: Cole Myers, Tanner Myers, Kain Myers, Brayden Rooney and Aubrey Rooney. She is also survived by her brothers: Marty Smith, of Dillsburg; Greg Smith, of Bowmansdale; Wayne Peffer, Marlin Peffer, Ralph Peffer and her twin brother, Lloyd Peffer. Her sisters: Evelyn Baer, Betty Garman, Doris Sarber and Joyce Stine. She was predeceased by her parents, George and Hilda (Wolf) Peffer, her sister and brother, Shirley Shughart and Harold Peffer.
Services will be held Tuesday, November 18 in the Bowmansdale Church of God, 101 East Lisburn Road, Mechanicsburg, PA with Pastor Mike Walker officiating. Burial will be in the Mechanicsburg Cemetery. A viewing will be held Monday, November 17 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Cocklin Funeral Home,Inc., 30 N. Chestnut Street, Dillsburg, PA and again on Tuesday, November 18 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Church, one hour prior to the service. A luncheon will follow the burial at the Mechanicsburg Church of God's Community Center, 201 E. Green Street, Mechanicsburg.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bowmansdale Church of God, 101 E. Lisburn Rd., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
