She married William Riedel on May 11, 1943, in Victoria. He preceded her in death May 13, 1983. She later married Joseph Pfeifer on June 1, 1986, in Victoria. He preceded her in death July 26, 1989.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Fidelis Catholic Church and Secular Franciscan Order, both of Victoria, and a sacristan at St. Fidelis Catholic Church for a number of years. She enjoyed singing, playing the guitar, friends, family & her grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons, Leon Riedel and wife, Marilyn, Salina, Vernon Riedel and wife, Jeanne, Hays, and Myron Riedel and wife, Rhonda, Wilsey; five daughters, Lois Albers and husband, Charles, Marilyn Augustine and husband, Arnold, Elaine Sanders and husband, Kenneth, and Twila Riedel, all of Hays, Jean Harp and husband, Don, Council Grove; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Ellen Riedel; six brothers, Leo, Peter, Emmanuel, Anselm, Johannes Anselm, and John Lang; six sisters, Basilia Lang, Sister Liboria Lang C.S.A., Lioba Mies, Angela Richmeier, Sister Mary Zita Lang C.S.A., and Sister Catherine Theresa Lang C.S.A.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria; burial in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria. Family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm Monday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to St. Fidelis Catholic Church, the Ellis Good Samaritan Center or Hospice of Hays Medical Center. Cline's Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, KS 67601, is in charge of arrangements.
