Peru, Miami, Indiana, October 23, 1978. Logansport.

Pearl Sims, 98, Logansport, died yesterday, Oct. 23, 1978, at the Monticello Healthcare Center. She had been in ill health several years. A daughter, Mary Conner of Peru, is among the survivors.

She was born Jan. 26, 1880, and had lived on a farm in the Winamac community most of her life, moving to Monticello a few years ago. Her foster parents were Edward and Sadie Berkshire Holmes.

She married Napoleon "Pode" Sims on Aug. 31, 1900. He died in 1955. Mrs. Sims was a member of the Royal Center Christian Church.

Surviving with Mrs. Conner are four other daughters, Susie Braden, Winamac, Florence Polen, Lucerne, Ruby Bagshaw, Anderson and Eva Stull, Monticella; 26 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren. Three brothers, one sister and two foster sisters are deceased.

Services will be Thursday t 1:30 p.m. at the Miller-Voorhis Funeral Home in Monticello, with the Rev. Robert Ross officiating. Burial will be in Winamac Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home, 202 S. Illinois St.
