Robert "Bob" Leland Timmons, 65, died at 6:53 PM Saturday [Nov. 7, 1987] in Lafayette Home Hospital, where he had been a patient one day, following a lingering illness. Born Dec. 28, 1921, in Colfax, he lived in the Lafayette area most of his life. He was married to Gladys Pearl Pitts on May 19, 1947, in West Lafayette, and she survives.
Mr. Timmons formerly owned Timmons Meat Market on Main Street. Later, he worked at Tippecanoe Meat and Fish, and retired from there in 1981. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Surviving with his widow are his mother, Mrs. Flossie Timmons of Colfax; two brothers, Joseph R. Timmons of Albuquerque, NM, and Richard L. Timmons of Colfax; three sisters, Jean (Mrs. Robert) Marvin, Beth (Mrs. Jack) Kelly, both of Lafayette, and Joan (Mrs. Donald) Price of South Haven, MI; also several nieces and nephews.
