Succumbs Today
Tipton - A Tipton man and veteran of WWII, John F. Hines, 54, of 727 Mill Street, died at 12:50 a.m. today in Veteran's Hospital, Indianapolis. He had been ill for seven years.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 8, at 2 p.m. in the Young - Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton. Rev. Norval Lyon will officiate, and burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday afternoon.
Mr. Hines was born September 8, 1911 in Hamilton County, the son of Emery and Cora Hubbartt Hines. He married Evelyn Warfel March 22, 1952 and she survives.
The deceased was a member of the West Street Christian Church, Moose Lodge, and was plant manager for 18 years for the D. A. Murray, Inc. Tipton. He attended the Sheridan schools.
Surviving with his wife are three children, Lisa Hines, at home, Mrs. Peggy Nightenhelser, Arcadia, Mrs. Diane Heiser, Indianapolis, his father, Emery Hines, Sheridan a brother, Leo Hines, Indianapolis, three sisters, Mrs. Mary Catherine Wallace, Sheridan, Mrs. Helen McCullough, Arcadia, Mrs. Jean Smith, Noblesville, four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
