Evelyn L. Hines, 74, of rural Hartford City died Friday, Jan. 24, at Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie.
Born Dec. 10, 1917, in Hamilton County, she was the daughter of James Monroe and Lottie May (Jackson) Waefel. She was first married to Mandron C. Thomas who died in 1944. She was married in 1952 to John F. Hines, who died July 6, 1966.
She belonged to West Street Christian Church in Tipton and Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include three daughters, Dian Heiser Hedges of Hartford City, Peggy Nightenhelser of Arcadia and Lisa Pentecost of Liberty; a brother, Joe Warfel of Indianapolis; four sisters, Mary Alice Logan, Donna Sullivan and Janice Ziegler, all of Tipton, and Jane Chappell of Noblesville; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A brother, Richard Warfel, and a sister, Pat Colson, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 pm Monday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton.
