Donald Calvin Clayton, 71, 645 S. Main St., a native of Sidney, died Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Piqua Memorial Medical Center, the victim of an apparent heart attack.

He was born July 11, 1920, the son of Talmadge and Bertha (Shively) Clayton. On Jan. 31, 1947, he married the former Elenor Williams, and she survives.

Other survivors include three sons, Glenn C. of Piqua, Randall M. of Maplewood and Gary D. of Sidney; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, four brothers, James T. of Sarasota, Fla., Robert of Orlando, Fla., Kenneth of Quincy and Larry of Cleveland, and three sisters, Ruth May and Mrs. Paul (Linda) Coe, both of Sidney, and Betty Willoughby of Tipp City.

Mr. Clayton, who served with the U.S. Navy during World War II, worked as a wastewater plant operator for the City of Piqua.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Salm-McGill & Tangeman Funeral Home, with the Rev. William Hovestreydt officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
