His Legacy… Cyril Andrew “Cy” Dreffs, age 83, of Coldwater, MI,
passed away, Friday, August 29, 2014. Cy was born May 31, 1931 in
Johannesburg, MI to Alex and Veronica (Piesecki) Dreffs. He married
Prudence Robinson July 6, 1957 in Brighton. Cy served in the US
Army during the Korean War, was a letter carrier for the USPS and was
a maintenance supervisor at U of M before retiring from both jobs in
1994. Cy also actively volunteered at the Coldwater Food Pantry.

His Family… Cy is survived by his wife Prudence; son Chris (Sheri)
Dreffs of Pinckney; siblings Monnie (Edwin) Judson of Ann Arbor,
Rosemary (Frank-Hoover) Switalski of Taylor, Valentine (Shirley) of
Whitmore Lake, Marcie (Butch) Goosen of Coopersville, Floyd of
Whitmore Lake, Virgil (Kathy) of Whitmore Lake and sister in law
Billie Dreffs of Whitmore Lake; grandchildren Joel Steiger and Alyssa
Dreffs. He is preceded in death by his son Dale Dreffs in 1980 and
siblings Agatha, William “Bill”, and Larry.

His Farewell… Cy’s family and friends will gather on Tuesday,
September 2, from 2 – 8PM with a Rosary at 7PM at Borek Jennings
Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. His Mass of Christian Burial will be
Wednesday, September 3 at 11:00 AM (instate at 10AM) at Old St.
Patrick Catholic Church, Ann Arbor. Father Gerald Gawronski will
serve as celebrant, burial to follow at Old St. Patrick Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Humane Society of Branch
County or the Branch Area Food Pantry.
