"Granny" Hawkins, 84, of Rogers will
be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, Feb. 18,
2004 at Friendship Cemetery in
Davilla with the Rev Luther Dillard
officiating. Mrs Hawkins died on
Saturday in a Temple hospital.
Mrs Hawkins was born in Airville,
Texas to Hermon H "Fiddler" Young
and Ida Lee Warren Young. She
retired from the VA Hospital after
15 years of service.
Mrs Hawkins was a member of the
County Line Baptist Church and a
lifelong resident of Rogers. After
her retirement she babysat many
children in the Rogers area. She
was an avid little league supporter
and enjoyed gardening, crocheting,
cooking and raising miniature
pinschers for many years.
She was preceded in death by her
husband, Julian C. Hawkins.
She is survived by one son Julian
F "Hawk" Hawkins; daughters Betty
Lemley, Carroll Bell, Barbara
Gonzales Vansa, Deborah Wright, a
sister Edith Young of San Antonio,
14 grandchildren, 15 great grand
children, one great great grand
child, and numerous nieces and
nephews.
