NELSON WRIGHT

Nelson Andrew "Nels" Wright, 72 son of the late Howard H. and Jennette A. "Jennie" (Miller) Wright, died at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the family residence in Addison after a long illness. The deceased was widely known in the Fayette-Somerset County areas as a building contractor.

He was an active member of the Addison Methodist Church and served as the Sunday School Superintendent for 20 years. He was also a member of the Knights of Pythias and the I.O.O.F. and was one of the last surviving Spanish-American War Veterans of the community.

Surviving are his wife, Annie B. (Meyers) Wright; four sons, George, William, and Harry of Addison, and John of Monessen; three daughters, Mrs. Melvin Reis of Confluence, Mrs. Richard Tressler and Mrs. Robert Collier of Monessen; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Frank and Joseph of Addison, and Guy of Youngstown; four sisters, Mrs. William Barkley of Addison, Mrs. C. H. Springer, a patient at the Cresson Sanitarium, Mrs. Rebecca Griffith of Hopwood and Mrs. C. M. Bower of Confluence.

Nels was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. William Boring of Uniontown.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the late home in Addison with the Reverend Raymond Hitchcock officiating, assisted by the Reverend Jerome Guss. Interment will follow at the Addison Cemetery.
