William Franklin "Bill" Wright, 85, of Addison died October 26, 1998, at the Henry Clay Villa, Markleysburg. Born October 2, 1913, in Addison, a son of the late Nelson Andrew and Annie B. (Meyers) Wright.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers George Clarence Wright, John Howard Wright and Harry Jack Wright, and sisters Virginia Meyers (Wright) Tressler and Naomi Blanche (Wright) Collier.
Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty J. (Blubaugh) Wright; two daughters, Betsy (Wright) Barlow of Addison and Joyce "Joy" (Wright) Fako of Pittsburgh.
Five grandchildren: Johnny, Gary and Bill Barlow, Brad and Robin Fako and two great-grandchildren, Molly Barlow and Jack Fako, also survive.
Also a sister Mary J. (Wright) Ries of Somerset survives.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. A retired building contractor, who along with his brother, Harry, owned Wright Brothers of Addison.
Bill was a life-long member of the Addison United Methodist Church and a former member of the Confluence Lions Club, Addison VFW Post No. 6819, Addison Volunteer Fire Department, and the Addison Cemetery Association.
Private interment will take place in the Addison Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Addison United Methodist Church, with the Reverend Del Wasser officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3 p.m. at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Addison United Methodist Church Building Fund, in care of Addison United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 143, Addison, PA 15411. Funeral arrangements under the direction of the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence.
