Mr. Barger was born in Cedartown, GA on May 2, 1959, son of the late Albert and Sarah Timms Barger. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles, and by two grandchildren, Jared Lee Barger and Christine "Sissy" Franks. He was a Handyman by trade, specializing in Garage Door installations. Mr. Barger was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing his guitar, showing off his grandchildren and having fun with life. We will miss him in our daily routine, but his impact on our lives will last forever.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Lyenn Watwood Barger, Rome; three sons, Shane Barger, and his wife, Wendy, Albert Barger, and his wife, Jodie, and Chris Barger, all of Rome; two daughters, Tonya Franks, and her husband, Chris, and Traci Barger, all of Rome; three sisters, Eunice Baker, Brenda Langham and Betty Busby, all of Rome; one brother, Michael Barger, Rome; 18 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 2:00p.m. in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel with the Rev. Steve Waddell and Rev. Forrest Leachman officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Monday from 6 until 8pm. At other hours, they may be contacted at their residence, 126 Holly Street, S.E., Rome.
Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Tuesday, at 1:30pm and include: Michael Barger, David Bennett, Jimmy Bush, Chris Bush, Jimmy Womack, and David Prater.
