Louis LaMar, a twin to Leslie LaVar, was born Oct. 11, 1939, in Murray, Utah, to Joseph Lyman Jessop and Winnie Porter Jessop. When the boys were 6 they moved with the rest of their family to Anitmony, Utah. A few years later, Louis was devastated when his beloved twin was tragically killed in an accident. Louis missed Leslie the rest of his life. In 1958 Louis graduated from Murray High School and in 1961 Louis began his own family. From that day on his family was high on his list of priorities. Not a day went by that he didn't express his love and devotion to every member of his family. Because he was such a good father, her acted as a father figure to nieces, nephews, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law and even several who where not related to him. Everyone loved Lou and he was definitely a "favorite."
Lou's favorite pastime was helping others and tinkering to fix things. No one could fix things up like he could, using nuts, bolts, duct tape or anything else he had at his disposal. He was truly a master of odd jobs. When asked for his help, Lou's fee was usually free. He helped strictly out of his love for other people.
His family lived in many places, but finally settled in Pinesdale, where Lou eventually became head maintenance/custodial personnel at Pines Academy. The children there loved him dearly and his calming, peaceful, helping presence will be sorely missed. Lou's life was devoted to two things: His Father in heaven and his family, which to him was heaven on earth. As he leaves this world to continue his work on the other side, his family sends their love and support with him. His all-enveloping hugs will be missed by everyone. He leaves behind a family that is strong, loving, large and devoted.
Viewing is at Pines Academy Sunday, June 1 and Monday, noon-1:30 p.m. Funeral is Monday at 2 p.m at the Pines Academy. Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com.
