Mr. Bye was born March 30, 1884 at Hatton and grew up in this community. He attended the State University at Fargo and for a number of years farmed near Hatton.
On June 7, 1917 he was married to Ella E. Bernert in Fargo. Since then, they have lived most of the time in Fargo. He was a freight agent for the Northern Pacific Railway in Dilworth, Fargo and St. Paul, and for many years was state agent for the Northwestern Fire and Marine Insurance Co. of Minneapolis, the latter became part of the Harford Group of Insurance Companies.
Upon retirement, he became interested as brokerage agent for Manger-Fisher-Lona, Inc. securities brokers. He was a member of the Blue Goose Lodge (insurance group) and the Fargo Elks Lodge.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sisters,
He is preceded in death by one brother and three sisters, Edward of Hatton, Mrs. Ole (Mary) Brandon, Mrs. F. A. (Bertha) Anderson of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and Mrs. Clarence (Helen) Oslund of St. Paul, Minn.
