Thomas was the son of James and Seraphine Barnes Galloway and the husband of Sarah Crouch Galloway. Thomas made his home in Flourville about six miles north of Johnson City, TN. He was a deacon in the Baptist Church and a trustee of the Boone Creek Seminary. Thomas and his brother, Nathan, owned and operated the "Galloway Flour Mill" for a number of years (the mill was acquired from the Finley Allison family).
Thomas and Sarah's children were: Susan A.(findagrave # 39910477), Julia Adeline, Mary E., Anna Sarah, Virginia F., George D., Martha Ellen, J. Walter and Cora Etta.
After Sarah's death, Thomas married Julia (maiden name unknown) in 1874. They had no children.
