Nathan was the son of James and Seraphine Barnes Galloway and the husband of (1) Susan Penelope Allison Galloway (her stone in this cemetery reads "Epp" S. Allison Galloway) and (2) Mary Jane Bayless Templin Galloway.
Nathan and Susan's children were Emma Lou, Robert Lee, Hattie Rhea, Julia Ellen, Leona May and James Allison.
Nathan's parents are buried at Muddy Creek Cemetery in Sullivan County. His father, James Galloway, served in the Tennessee Militia during the War of 1812 and Nathan's grandfather, Marshall Galloway, served in the Virginia Militia during the American Revolution.
Nathan and his brother, Thomas J. Galloway, owned and operated the "Galloway Flour Mill" for a number of years (the mill was acquired from the Finley Allison family).
