Deaths - Kershner. Mrs. Alice M. Kershner, widow of Owen Elmer Kershner, died at 12:30 Tuesday morning, November 27, 1956, at the White House Rest Home. Mrs. Kershner, who was a patient at the Eldred home ten years, had been moved to White House on Monday. She was 89 years old. Born July 4, 1867, in Stanton community, Miami county, Kansas, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Ellen McCain. She spend most of her life in this country, living in Stanton township until coming to the nursing home a decade ago. She was married to Mr. Kershner, February 15, 1887 and they made their home first at Fredonia, then returned to the Stanton community. Five children were born to them, one child dying in infancy and a son, Pearl, in a car-truck accident in Kansas City in 1935. Mrs. Kershner was a charter member of the Sping Ridge Presbyterian church and was an active worker in it many yeares. She is survived by three sons, Elmer C., Kansas City; Floyd A., Vallier Acres, Paola, and Lewis, a patient at Wadsworth Veterans Hospital; one brother, Frank O. McCain, Kansas City, Ks.; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Kershner died January 25, 1932. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock this Thursday afternoon at the Runyan chapel and interment will be in the Stanton cemetery. Relatives who will attend are Mr. and Mrs. Elmer C. Kershner, Mr. and Mrs. Frank McCain and family, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Kershner, Kansas City; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Skillman, Garnett and Mrs. C. H.
