He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James Ray Harper; and two sisters.
He was 57 years old. He was a farmer, a member of Bethel Baptist Church and Science Hill Chapter 162, D.A.V.
Visitation was at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. The funeral was at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Vincent Carmen officiating.
