GWYNNE J. PETTIGREW FLORENCE -- Annie Gwynne Jeffers Pettigrew, 99, died Monday, May 5, 2014 in her residence after an illness. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Waters-Powell Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Mrs. Pettigrew was born in Florence a daughter of the late Purvis Spann and Jessie Norwood Timmons Jeffers. She was an administrative assistant at the Pee Dee Center for many years. Surviving are a son, H. Timmons (Shirley) Pettigrew of the home; a daughter, Joy Pettigrew (Bill) Ackerman of Irmo; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a sister, Jessie Jeffers Landmesser of Searsport, ME. Mrs. Pettigrew was predeceased by a son, Ned (Linda) Pettigrew and a daughter, Gwynne Pettigrew Jeffords. Nana's family would like to express their deepest and heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to her devoted and loving caregivers, Mary Cantey, Mattie Cusaac, Ethel Hawkins, Lisa Miles (RN of McLeod Hospice), along with Dr. Fripp Ducker and his staff. The care she received always went above and beyond what could have been imagined. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to McLeod Hospice, PO Box 100551, Florence, SC 29502-0551, for the continuation of the remarkable service they provide
