Mrs. Harriet McDaniels died at Lee on Thursday evening after an illness of one week with pneumonia. She was a daughter of the late Stillman Byam and was born in Lee in February, 1827. On Aug. 8, 1847 in Lee, NY, she was married to Squire McDaniels, who died seventeen years ago. She had lived in Lee and Rome most of her life. She was a member of the Methodist Church and possessed a fine Christian character. She leaves two sons O. D. McDaniels of Rome and W. W. McDaniels of Utica, two daughters, Mrs. W. E. Lewis and Mrs. Hattie Luther of Rome, and three brothers, Alpheus Byam of Red Oak, Iowa, David Byam of Rome and Merrit Byam of Taberg.
