ARTIE M. HEADLEY OF WINTERSET DIES

Mrs. Artie M. Headley of Winterset, a resident of Madison county the last 45 years, died Thursday, Sept. 26, at Memorial hospital here. She was 89 years of age. She was a former school teacher in Pennsylvania, and in Union county where she formerly lived.

Mrs. Headley was born in Green county, Pennsylvania on Dec. 24, 1878. She was the former Artie M. Whyte, daughter of Annanias and Clarinda Fordyce Whyte. She was married in Pennsylvania on Jan. 26, 1907, to C. L. Headley. His death occurred in 1955.

She was a member of the First Christian church in Winterset.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Bessie Walker of New Virginia, Mrs. Clarinda Allen of Winterset, and Mrs. Iva Impey of Schaumburg, Ill.; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; and a brother, Harold R. Whyte of Waynesburg, Pa.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the First Christian church of Winterset, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. William E. Bowles. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
